Boca Raton Mermaids hosted a Pet Adoption Happy Hour on February 14. Guests were lucky enough to find their new best friend and furry valentine at this special pet adoption event. Tri-County Animal Rescue had pets for adoption on the restaurant patio.

“The event was a great success! Not only do three of the four dogs have adoption requests, but one of our cats with long-term special needs has also been adopted. We wanted Valentine’s Day to remain the joyful celebration full of love and care that it started,” said Suzi Goldsmith, co-founder and executive director of Tri-County Animal Rescue.

“The wonderful team of Hooters Boca Raton have taken our refuge in their loving arms for seven years. With our world changing every moment, our fundraising has gone to zero; yet Hooters still comes to our rescue. Without the team and the support of our friends there, Tri-County wouldn’t have saved as many animals as we have and will continue to do so. From the bottom of our four-legged friends’ hearts, we thank them,” Goldsmith added. In addition to adoptions, the Valentine’s Day event also raised more than $1,233 for Tri-County Animal Rescue.

“We appreciated the opportunity on Valentine’s Day to give our community the opportunity to adopt a furry friend and help Tri-County Animal Rescue increase pet adoptions, raise funds and raise awareness of their efforts,” said Chris Torelli, managing partner of Boca Raton.

Tri-County Animal Rescue is a 100% No-Kill, 501c3, non-profit animal shelter that works to prevent the murder of more than 170,000 unwanted pets in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties each year. Since its inception, Tri-County Animal Rescue has rescued over 74,000 animals.
