Cleopatra is your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week – The Pine Tree
San Andreas, CA… Meet Cleopatra, a long haired turtle with regal demeanor and an attitude to match. At one point, this estimated 10-year-old beauty was someone’s pampered pet as she arrived at the shelter wearing a sparkling black and pink collar. However, she was picked up as a neighborhood wanderer and unfortunately no one came to pick her up. Friendly but calm and calm, Miss Cleo enjoys observing her surroundings from the top of her padded, plump pillow. She enjoys gentle petting anytime, the occasional cat treat, and tolerates having her back and chest brushed when she feels up to it. Majestic in both appearance and personality, Cleopatra would likely do best in an adult household where she could be the queen of the kingdom.
As with all cats available for adoption, Cleopatra is up to date with her routine vaccinations and has been microchipped. We are also confident that she has been spayed, but will be confirmed by a vet before her adoption.

AO52880 with other cats and dogs awaiting permanent homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (at the government center near the new prison). Currently, the Calaveras Refuge remains open to visitors wishing to adopt. However, we limit viewing to one person at a time for COVID precautions. Please understand that there may be a wait to see the animals at the shelter, many of whom are still waiting for their homes forever. Adoptable animals can also be found on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.
Volunteers are also in great demand. Whether you can donate a little time or a lot, we would appreciate your help in caring for the animals in the shelter or in the office. No experience necessary; we will provide training and tailor you to your interests. Please call 754-6509 for more information.
Animal Services now has a flexible fee program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at or above 80% capacity,
the total adoption fee will be 50% – reduced to $ 40 for dogs and $ 30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats arriving at the shelter already modified is $ 10. With the 55-5-5 program, each time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts an animal over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $ 5.
